A laws unto himself

Once again the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has found commercial broadcaster John Laws in breach of the requirement to disclose potential conflicts of interest. According to ACMA Laws had a "commercial relationship" with Telstra.  Put simply, he was being paid by Telstra, but he did not inform his listeners of this fact, as he was required to do.

ACMA found that in Laws program:

The issue of Telstra privatisation was discussed in detail on six occasions during the three hour program, including an interview on the subject and a discussion with a caller. During the program Mr Laws made mention of the name ‘Telstra’ on 20 occasions, none of which included a disclosure announcement.
