ABC to launch 24 hour TV news channel

The ABC Managing Director Mark Scott has announced that the ABC will be providing a 24 hour TV news channel, without additional funds for programming. The ABC says the new 24-hour news channel signals the biggest expansion of the ABC’s news operation in decades and the ABC’s commitment to the delivery of high-quality news and current affairs programming into the future. The new service will be available later this year.
